Latest figures suggest golf fans have given up on Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL

The fewest amount of ‘primetime’ ESPN viewers tuned in to watch Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links take on The Bay GC on TGL this week.

TGL may be nearing its end-of-season Playoffs but it would appear a large number of PGA Tour fans are already turned off by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s new tech-infused league. 

The latest Nielsen ratings are in and it’s sorry reading for TGL. 

A lowly 384,000 viewers tuned in to ESPN to watch Woods’ Jupiter Links GC take on The Bay GC on Tuesday night. 

That marks the lowest primetime ESPN TGL ratings to date. 

The overall average of the 12 played TGL matches so far is 547,750 viewers.

The latest update follows an already worrying TV trend noted earlier this month. 
 

Okay, Woods was not in competitive action for his team this week, but still, the latest figures will be a huge worry for TGL as their Playoffs loom. 

The Bay GC defeated Jupiter Links 6-3. 

Woods’ team was made up of Kevin Kisner, Tom Kim and Max Homa. 

As it stands, both Woods and McIlroy’s team are going to miss the upcoming TGL Playoffs.

Should Jupiter Links and Boston Golf indeed miss out on the Playoffs then it could have a further detrimental effect on TV ratings without Woods and McIlroy in action.
