PGA Awards Winners: ‘Simone Biles Rising’ and ‘Sesame Street’ Take First Trophies
The Producers Guild of America kicked off the 2025 PGA Awards ceremony on Monday. The production team for the Netflix documentary series “Simone Biles Rising” won Outstanding Sports Program, while the producers of Max’s “Sesame Street” won Outstanding Children’s Program for the third year in a row.
The news broke tonight during the PGA’s annual East Coast celebration of nominated producers and production teams at the Lincoln Ristorante in New York City. The winners of the Outstanding Short Program, PGA Innovation Award and Vance Van Petten Entrepreneurship Award will be announced Thursday during a West Coast celebration at Neuehouse Venice Beach in Los Angeles.
The week’s events lead up to the 36th annual PGA Awards on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, where the guild will announce the winner of its most prestigious award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, its Oscar bellwether category that has aligned with the Academy Award winner for Best Picture 16 of the past 21 years. Last year, it aligned with Oscar by giving the award to Oppenheimer.
