Simone Biles says goodbye to Chicago with Jonathan Owens in update

Simjson Biles and Jonathan Owens have spent the last year living in Chicago, but the couple bid farewell to the Windy City on Sunday as they prepare to return to Texas

Simone Biles has penned an emotional see-you-later to Chicago, yet it’s just a matter of time before the Team USA icon returns to the Windy City.

On Sunday, Biles said her goodbyes to the city that she’s called home for the past year while hubby Jonathan Owens tackled his debut season with the Chicago Bears. Flooding her social feeds, the Olympic legend in U.S. gymnastics posted an image of the lovebirds saluting their Chicago stint with a glass raised, captioning the moment: “Farewell to our time in Chicago see you in a few months.”

Teasing her next move, she dropped a big clue on Instagram with a snap of her pup, adding, “Lil mamas cross country trip. On her way back to Houston w/the best @rfrdacademy.”

Throughout the 2024-25 NFL season, Biles was a constant presence at Bears matches, often seen planting a good luck smooch on Owens before the game started. Owens’ stats this season boast 49 tackles, a duo of fumble recoveries, two pass breakups, and one interception snag.

Following Owens’ trek to Paris to root for Biles as she snatched golds—the women’s individual all-around, vault, and team—all at the 2024 Summer Olympics, she reveled in the chance to return the cheerleading back home.

Gushing over the experience to Olympics.com, Biles expressed, “Oh, my gosh. It means the world to me,” when discussing supporting Owens at Bears games. “And I know it means so much to him for me to be able to go and support his games.

“For him, it means a lot for me to go on the sideline before because he says that’s his pre-game routine. So he’s always looking for me on the sideline to give him, like, good luck vibes and wishes. That’s just his superstition.”

After the Bears’ season wrapped up, Biles posted a touching collection of images from their pregame moments together, captioning it with unwavering support: “Will support my man till the very end. Proud of you 36! Year 7 in the books,” she penned. Owens responded in the comments with a heartfelt, “I love you so much, baby.”

Despite hailing from Spring, Texas, Biles has taken Chicago’s notorious winters in stride, commenting that they haven’t been too overwhelming. “Honestly, not bad,” she remarked about the chilly temperatures.

“Some days I feel like 30s and 40s (Fahrenheit) feel colder than, like, 17. But as long as I’m bundling up, I feel like I’ve actually been pretty good.”

Although Biles and Owens have only called Chicago home for a few months, they’ve already found their go-to eatery. “We love Maple and Ash,” she shared. “We go there quite frequently, so I would say Maple and Ash.”
