Simone Biles’ Husband Jonathan Owens Will Cheer on Wife at Paris 2024 Team All-Around Final

When Simone Biles takes the court Tuesday night (July 30) for the women’s team artistic gymnastics final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, she’ll have one special fan in the stands at Bercy Arena: her husband Jonathan Owens.

“Coming for you, baby,” Owens wrote on his Instagram Story with a photo of himself on board a plane. Biles reposted it with four emojis: “🤞🏾🤞🏾🥹🥹.”

Three years after the Tokyo Olympics, when Biles withdrew from the women’s team final and the four subsequent individual finals to focus on her mental health, the 27-year-old has repeatedly spoken about how the COVID quarantine at this Olympics has affected her. She lives on the other side of the world with her family, in Houston, Texas.

But that’s not the case here in Paris. In addition to Owens, many of Biles’ family members are in Paris, including her parents, Ron and Nelly, who attended Friday’s opening ceremony.

Staying in Paris was a top priority for Owens, who negotiated his departure from his stint as NFL quarterback for the Chicago Bears. According to the AP communication, Owens said, “It was what my agent and when I participated,” Owens said. “The Olympics came, who was my wife, it was just something … Everything was polite. We just went to them and said, ‘We’d really appreciate it if he could come and support his wife,’ and they were so responsive.

Biles and Owens were married in Cabo last May. He plans to stay until the women’s all-around final on Thursday, August 1.
