Ferrari completes final run in Barcelona, ​​further track time expected

On Tuesday, at a bright but cold Barcelona circuit, the Englishman took over from teammate Charles Leclerc, who had been running the first half of the race, and the pair are set to clock up further mileage at the same venue over the next two days (weather permitting) if permitted in the context of the private trials. Hamilton needs to focus on adapting to the new cockpit, getting used to the feel of the pedals and the adjustments of the steering wheel, as well as starting to get used to how the Ferrari works on the race circuit.

Racing drivers are only allowed to drive 1,000km in the TPC (pre-car test), and there is a limit on the distance they can drive. In anticipation of arriving in Barcelona, ​​they left this distribution about 800 km.

Ferrari will return to Barcelona on February 4 and 5 next week and participate in the Pirelli 2026 tire test with McLaren. It’s not yet clear who will drive the car and when, but Hamilton is expected to get more mileage in the improved 2024 Ferrari, whose program will be determined by Pirelli.

Hamilton and Leclerc will get their first look at the 2025 car when the team unveils its new car at Fiorano on February 19.

Pre-season testing starts in Bahrain in seven days, with Hamilton and his rivals all due to do a day and a half of running on the desert course.
